Egg Wisdom

There is so much for us to learn about feminine energy and wisdom from learning more about how an egg moves through the menstrual cycle.

This incredible egg sits in a follicle, patiently waiting until it has been chosen + nourished to grow. Through ovulation, it take massive action as it is released and then travels down the Fallopian tube. When it finds its right spot , it pauses, it sits + waits. It is patient as the sperm travel to reach it.

It is patient and trusting.

Once the sperm arrive, it’s not a first come, first served situation. The egg now chooses which sperm it’s going to allow to fertilize it. It releases enzymes that help to break down the sperm to release its DNA. And then even more magic happens - as this egg has the ability to repair the DNA of the sperm if it is compromised.

It receives with discernment.

If fertilized, this egg now moves down the fallopian tube to the uterus to find the home to attach + grow even more. This journey requires more nourishment to complete, which the egg continues to provide.

This fully nourished + mature egg can now nourish another.

If it’s not fertilized, the egg gently lets go + allows to menstrual cycle to complete + the uterine lining to be shed, making way for another egg to take the journey.

It lets go with grace.

And this whole entire process occurs within our bodies without us having to even think about it. We may watch for our body signs to be aware of what our body is doing - but our body is capable of this whole process without our active attention.
